Facebook Lead Ads, or Facebook lead-generation ads, are a way to reach new customers through Facebook. These ads can display forms where interested people can enter their contact information and, for example, sign up for newsletters, apply for a job at your company, get a promo code, or submit an inquiry about your products or services.
Using this procedure, you can:
- you create a form to collect contacts on Facebook,
- you set up an integration between Facebook and Boldem using the Make.com platform,
- Enable automation for this integration so data are automatically entered into Boldem.
Prerequisites
To ensure Facebook data collection into Boldem works correctly, the following requirements must be met:
- Purchase the E-mailing plan so you can use the Boldem API. You can easily activate the plan in the Boldem app settings under Billing.
- Set up an account on the Make.com platform (a free account is sufficient for basic integration and recipient transfer).
- Create a business account on the Meta Business Suite platform to manage ads on Facebook and integrate it with your Facebook Page. You also need to create an ad account, enter billing information, and choose a payment method.
Creating a form and campaign on Facebook
First, create a form and an ad campaign to collect leads on Facebook. Follow these steps:
- Log in to Ads Manager.
- In the left menu, select Campaigns.
- Click the Create button.
- Select the campaign objective Leads and click Continue.

- In the next step, choose whether you prefer recommended settings or manual settings. If you don’t have experience creating similar campaigns, we recommend keeping the recommended settings (Recommended settings). Click Continue.
- Enter a campaign name, modify the settings according to the type of campaign you’re creating, and click Next.
- Select Quick Forms.

- View and agree to the terms for collecting contacts on the Meta network.
- In the next step, adjust the campaign budget to suit your needs, as well as the campaign start and end dates, targeting, placements, audience, and enter the recipient and payer (usually your company or the company that owns the account on the Meta platform).
- Click Next.
- Click Create form and enter a form name so you can easily find it later.
- Click the Settings tab and select your target audience’s language.

Review the remaining items on both the Content and Settings tabs and thoroughly modify the form to suit your needs.
- We recommend clearly stating what people are signing up for and asking only for truly necessary information — typically first name, last name, and email address, because suspiciously long or intrusive forms tend to discourage most users. Since Boldem handles first and last names separately, we recommend using separate fields for each.
- Of course, you can increase reach and form completion rates by using attractive graphics. Don’t forget to add and verify the link to your Privacy Policy and the redirect destination for users after they submit the form.
Carefully review the information you entered in the form using the preview on the right. Once saved, the form can’t be edited and you’d have to create a new one. When you’ve finished making all edits, click Create form.
Don’t publish the ad campaign yet — we need to integrate Facebook with Boldem first so collected contacts are saved to the mailing list.
Facebook integration with Boldem
To integrate Facebook with Boldem, we’ll use the Make.com platform. The steps are as follows:
- Log in to your Make.com account.
- In the top-right corner of the screen, click Create new scenario.
- Click the large ⊕ icon.
- Find the Facebook Lead Ads item and click it.
- Select Watch Leads.

Ideally, use the New Lead module, which allows immediate transfer of contacts when a form is submitted. You can try it yourself, but we couldn’t get it to work properly during testing—most likely due to an issue with the Meta API—so we recommend using the Watch Leads module as described below.
- If you haven’t connected Facebook to Make.com yet, the Create a connection button will appear. Click it and follow the steps below. Otherwise, skip these steps.
- Enter a name for the connection for your reference and click Save. A new window will appear requesting your Facebook login credentials. After login, a dialog will appear to integrate Make.com with Meta.

- Click Continue as [your name].
If the ‘Resource not found’ error appears after confirmation, close the window and try again. The session may have expired during sign-in.
- After a successful integration, a dialog with a drop-down menu to select a page (Page) will appear.
- Select the page for which you created the campaign with a form and click Save. An additional drop-down menu will appear to select the form.

- Select the form you created and click Save.
- In the Limit field, enter the number of contacts you want to transfer to Boldem with each start. If you schedule starts less frequently, we recommend setting this limit higher.
- Enter when the trigger should start processing data. Keep From now on and click OK.

- Click OK.
With this step we’ve successfully added and configured the trigger. Now we need to create the second part of the scenario — the action that will save the customer data collected this way to a mailing list in Boldem. To do that, we’ll first create a mailing list in Boldem and note its name.
- In the new window, sign in to your Boldem account.
- Click on Mailing lists and select Create mailing list.
- Enter the List name and click Create list.
- Write down or remember the mailing list name.
Once you’ve created the mailing list, return to the Make.com window and follow these steps to create the action:
- For an existing Facebook Lead Ads trigger, click the plus icon:

- Find the Boldem item and click it.

- A list of actions will appear. Select Create Subscribe Request.

- If you’re connecting Boldem to Make.com for the first time, the Create a connection option will appear. Click it. If you’ve already created a connection to Boldem, go to the Mapping fields between Facebook Lead Ads and Boldem section below.

- To integrate with Boldem, you’ll need REST API keys. Switch to the window where you’re logged into Boldem and, in the left menu, select Settings/API/New API key.

- A new dialog will appear. Enter a name for your orientation and click Create.
- Copy the displayed values — the Client ID and the client’s client secret — and save them in a secure place. You will need them in the next step.

- Return to the Make.com website where you’re creating the scenario and fill in the form values:

- In the Client ID field, enter your client ID that you copied from your Boldem account.
- Enter your client secret into the Client Secret field that you copied from your Boldem account.
After you confirm the dialog, the integration will be created within moments and another dialog will appear to map the Facebook Lead Ads fields you want to save to that recipient in Boldem.
Field mapping between Facebook Lead Ads and Boldem.
As a minimum you need to send (store) the email address to Boldem, i.e., the email field. If your form collects other information, you can store that in Boldem too — typically first name, last name, and phone number, which you can also use in Boldem. You can also create a custom field and collect any data into it.
Map individual fields by clicking the Boldem field where you want to save the data; a list of Facebook Lead Ads fields will appear on the left or right. Click a field name there to automatically insert it into the Boldem field. Example of the field-mapping process:
- Click the Email field to open the Facebook Lead Ads menu.
- In the Facebook Lead Ads section (in our case on the left), click the name of the corresponding field — in our case Email. This inserts the field name into the field you selected on the left side of the dialog. In practice, this data will be saved to that field in Boldem. You can also add other fields, such as First name in our example.
- In the Main Mailing List drop-down menu, find the mailing list where we want to store recipients in Boldem.

If you want to save a recipient to more than one mailing list, you can check those mailing lists in the Mailing Lists section.
If you want to require recipients’ explicit consent to receive your content before they’re added to a mailing list, you can enable double opt-in for that mailing list. In that case, configure the mailing list according to the instructions in the chapter Setting up double opt-in. If you enable this setting, a recipient will be added to the mailing list only after they click to confirm in the email.
We recommend repeating this for other fields, such as First Name and Last Name, and for any other fields you collect on the form. When finished, save the dialog by clicking OK.
Finally, enable the script, set the start, and save:
- In the lower-left corner, turn the scenario on by clicking the icon above the Schedule label so it shows ON.
- To the right of this icon, click Schedule and choose how often you want to transfer contacts to the mailing list. Keep in mind that each start consumes operations from your Make.com plan, so consider this especially if you’re on the free plan.
- Finally, save the entire scenario by clicking the save icon.

Integration testing
Now we need to test that everything is working correctly.
- Go to Meta Business Suite.
- In the left-hand menu, click All tools and search for Quick forms.

- After clicking the item, a list of created forms will appear. Check the form you created, and on the right, click Test Form.

- Your form will open. Enter the required information and submit the form. While doing so, check all text and the form’s design.
- Return to the Make.com window and click the One-time start icon.

- Wait for the scenario in Make.com to complete, then check that the recipient was successfully transferred to the mailing list in Boldem.
If an error occurs during testing, view the details in the scenario log or click the magnifying glass on the affected module and take steps to fix it. If you need help adjusting the settings, contact Make.com support or Boldem, depending on where the error occurred.
Finally, don’t forget to return to Meta Ads Manager to complete starting the campaign with the form you selected.
